Gunmen kill six in attack on Apostle Suleiman’s convoy

Six people were reportedly killed when gunmen on Friday evening attacked the convoy of the General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman in Auchi, Edo state.
The vehicle conveying the cleric was said to have been riddled with bullets.
The spokesman of the Edo state police command, Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident said three police officers were among those killed in the attack.
He said, “At about 1700 hours, the man of God, Apostle Johnson Suleman, and his convoy were attacked at Auchi, Edo state, while returning from Benin City.
“During the attack, the unknown hoodlums killed three policemen attached to him, two civilian drivers, a female domestic staff, while another female domestic staff is not yet seen.
“As soon as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Auchi and his men heard about the attack, they swung into action, moved into the scene.
“The hoodlums, on sighting the police, engaged them in a gun duel, and due to the superior firepower of the police, one of the hoodlums was gunned down, and one of the vehicles they used was recovered.
“As we speak, the divisional police officer and the men in charge of Auchi Division, are on a serious and aggressive manhunt for the arrest of the fleeing hoodlums.”
