The national and state assembly election petition tribunal sitting in Jos has sacked two national assembly members representing Jos South /Jos East and Langtang North/Langtang South federal constituencies.
The lawmakers include Musa Bagos, representing Jos South /Jos East and Beni Lar representing Langtang North/Langtang South.
The sacked lawmakers contested the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25 National Assembly Elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Alfred Ajan of the Labour party (LP) and Vincent Venmak of the All Progressive Congress (APC) had challenged the election of the PDP candidates at the tribunal.
The tribunal in its judgment declared Ajan and Venmak of who came second as winners of the election.
In their separate rulings at the court, Justice Omaka Elekwo and Justice Muhammad Tukur nullified the election of the two PDP candidates on the grounds that the party failed to respect the order of the Jos High court to conduct ward congresses before the general elections.
The justices further said the evidence presented by the APC and LP candidates were relevant and admissible, adding that all the votes cast for the PDP candidates were invalid.
The tribunal had on Monday declared former governor Simon Lalong, as winner of the Plateau South senatorial district election.
