Plateau APC congratulates Lalong over victory at election tribunal

The Plateau state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has congratulated the immediate past governor of the state, Simon Lalong over his victory at the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal in the state.
The tribunal had on Monday declared Lalong, who is the minister of Labour as the winner of the Plateau South Senatorial District election.
The tribunal upturned the election of Napoleon Bali, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who was declared winner of the February 25 poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The commission had announced that Bali secured 148,844 votes while Lalong scored 91, 674 to come runner-up.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Sylvanus Namang, APC spokesperson in Plateau, said the judgment was satisfactory to the party.
The statement said, “The landmark judgment is illuminating and puts to rest the controversy that PDP has no legally constituted executives in the state.
“The judgment, we believe, is a clear roadmap to better days ahead for the APC in the state in the remaining Plateau tribunal judgments.
“The entire APC family heartily rejoices with our principal, Minister of Labour and Employment, a very patient, humble and tolerant leader, Simon Lalong, over this remarkable victory at the tribunal.”
Namang asked the supporters of the party to celebrate the victory with decorum as they await to triumph in the remaining election cases.
