The Sokoto State Police Command has disclosed that the prime suspects in the killing Deborah Samuel, a student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, were still at large.
The spokesman of the command, Sanusi Abubakar, disclosed this in an interview with The PUNCH newspaper on Sunday in Sokoto.
On May 12, 2022, Emmanuel, a 200 level student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, was attacked by Islamic extremists and set ablaze over alleged blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed.
Abubakar said the police making efforts to arrest the culprits, adding that those that had been arrested by the police, were not the suspected killers, but contributed to the violent riot in the school.
“Those ones we arrested then, though not the suspected killers, contributed to the violent riot and were arraigned in court where the judge ordered that they should be remanded.
“Concerning those suspected killers, we have circulated their pictures to media houses and sent our intelligence to every part of the state.
“We are still on the lookout for them and we are confident of arresting them wherever they may be hiding. “We will flush them out and arraign them before a competent court of law”, he said.
