Dauda Lawal governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara state, has emerged winner of the election in the state.
Declaring the winner of the election in the early hours of Tuesday, Kassimu Shehu, the INEC returning officer, said Lawal polled 377,726 votes to defeat the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bello Matawalle, who garnered 311,976 votes.
“That Lawal Dauda of political party PDP, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner of the election,” Shehu said.
