A group under the aegis of Bogoro Youth Vanguard, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has said that the recent attacks on Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state by Yakubu Dogara, a former speaker of the House of Representatives indicates that he was seeking to be recognised by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement in Bauchi, the group condemned Dogara over his his utterances on the governor.
Dogara and Mohammed had been embroiled in war of words following the governor’s recent criticisms of the economic policies of the Tinubu administration.
Dogara, had reacted to the critisms, accusing the governor of spending huge resources on his personal comfort and failing to address issues of illiteracy, health care and lack of basic amenities in Bauchi state.
Reacting to one of Dogara’s earlier statements titled, “Re: Gov. Bala Mohammed’s latest tirade and truculent buffoonery,” the group described the former lawmaker as a desperate politician.
The statement, jointly signed by the Chairman of the group, Habila Daniel and the Secretary, Philip Kimsa, said: “When it comes to trivialities, Dogara has proven to have won many awards with his edge-cutting records of childishness when engaging in national political matters.
“Less we forget, there is no politician in this country in the past 20 years that has exhibited a high propensity of betrayal, biting the fingers that feed him like Dogara has done, for the short period of political life he has lived.
“He has firmly masterminded the art of treachery and envy as against service to the nation or loyalty to political beliefs and dogma.”
The statement commended the governor for demonstrating capacity in rebuilding Bauchi and ensuring sustainable peace and mutual relationships among citizens of the state.
The group maintained that Dogara still nurses the pains of the last governorship election in the state.
“For many of us at home, we knew that the introduction of Dogara into the campaign team of Air Vice Marshal Sadique was a killer itself, a lesson for any candidate in the future.
“Does he need to be reminded that he has no political structure at home?
“Whoever Dogara points the hand at, is already an apology and lacking the right moral fibre to ride on,” the statement said.
