Another court sacks Taraba APC governorship candidate

An Abuja federal high court, presided over by Justice Obiora Egwatu has nullified the election of Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba state for the 2023 elections.
In his ruling on Tuesday, the judge declared that based on submissions made before him by all concerned parties, the purported primary election conducted by the APC on May 26, 2022, upon which the party declared Bwacha of APC Taraba South, as its candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial election, was a nullity.
The the suit was instituted by Yusuf Yusuf, a senator representing Taraba Central Senatorial District.
A federal high court in Jalingo, Taraba state, had in October, sacked Bwacha, in a similar ruling in a suit filed by David Kente, a governorship aspirant.
In their separate rulings, the two courts called on the leadership of the APC to conduct a fresh governorship primary in Taraba state within 14 days.
