2023: PDP announces sale of nomination forms, approves timetable for conduct of primaries

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has announced the sale of its nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2023 general elections.
In a communique issued on Wednesday at the end of its 95th National Executive Committee (NEC) in Abuja, the party also approved guidelines for the conduct of primary elections as well as Timetable and schedule of activities for the general elections.
It also approved a 50 per cent reduction in nomination fees for youths aged 25 to 30 years for various elective positions.
The NEC further approved the commencement of sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, from Thursday, March 17, 2022.
Details of the approved amounts for the expression of interest and nomination forms are as follows:
State House of Assembly: Expression of Interest – N100,000. Nomination Form-N500,000
House of Representatives:
Expression of interest- N500,000. Nomination form-N2 million.
Senate: Expression of interest: N500,000. Nomination form-N3 million.
Governorship: Expression of interest – N1 million. Nomination form – N20 million.
President: Expression of interest – N5 million. Nomination form – N35 million.
The NEC also approved the establishment of a 37-member Zoning Committee to make recommendations for the zoning of various elective positions for the general elections.
The communique which was signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, “condemned the insincerity, corruption and insensitivity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration resulting in worsening insecurity and agonizing economic hardship in the country.”
“NEC also condemned the abysmal corruption in the APC government which is responsible for the excruciating fuel crisis and collapse of our national grid that have crippled economic and social activities in our country.
“NEC notes that Nigerians are now looking up to the PDP for solution and as such urged all Party members to remain united in the PDP’s mission to Rescue and Rebuild our country from the misrule of the APC”, the communique said.
