The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has on Tuesday confirmed 11 cases of coronavirus in Nigeria. According to the commission all of the 11 new cases were in Lagos.

“As at 11:00 pm 14th April there are 373 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria,” NCDC said.

The news which broke in the late hours of 14th April followed reports on plans to begin daily sample testing of 3,000 persons in Abuja and Lagos.

The two cities have been hit the hardest by #COVID19 and have been under lockdown since the end of March.

“To measure efficiency in #COVID19 testing, we set a target to test 2000 samples per day in Lagos & 1000, per day in Abuja,” Director General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu said on AIT’s Newshour.

“Sometimes, it’s not a lack of resources that may lead to inefficiency but the inability to connect the dots.”
