Amid tussle over the throne of emir of Kano, supporters of dethroned Aminu Ado Bayero, have reportedly trooped to the streets, demanding his return.
Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II and Bayero, the dethroned Emir of Kano are locked in a battle for the royal stool.
Daily Trust reports that at about 4pm on Sunday, young persons marched to the streets to demand a return of the dethroned monarch.
“Some of them lit bonfire on the major road as they marched chanting anti-government songs”, the newspaper reported.
The protesters reportedly trooped out to the streets after observing a special prayer session.
Daily Trust said, some of protesters carried placards with inscriptions such as: “Abba Kabir Yusuf, Obey Court order”, “Court Brought You”, “You Must Obey The Court”, “Aminu Is Still Our Emir”, “We Are Against injustice”
The newspaper had earlier reported how a similar took place in Gaya, one of the disbanded emirates, on Sunday morning.
