The remains of the late Chief of Maroa, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna state, Mallam Tagwai Sambo, was laid to rest on Saturday in Manchok.
The first class chief, aged 88, died peacefully in his sleep in his palace in Kaura on June 15, 2024.
Born on December 24, 1936, Sambo, a reknown educationist, ascended the throne in 1966, at the age of 30, after serving as commissioner for Works and Housing in the defunct Northern Regional Government.
The late mornach was said to be battling with some health challenges since 2020.
