Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced a temporary suspension of its recruitment portal.
The portal is dedicated to recruitment into paramilitary agencies — Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Fire Service (NFS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).
The suspension comes just two days after the portal was opened for recruitment applications into the four parastatals.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by AM Jubril, secretary to the board, the CDCFIB said the decision became necessary due to the large number of users visiting the site, which has led to technical problems and delays.
He added that the portal will be available again from Monday, July 21.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” the statement reads.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process.”
This is the third service announcement made by the board since the portal became open for applications on July
It had initially announced, after users complained about inability to access the site, that “a new few updates is set to be added for your easy navigation, optimal performance and complete field entries”.
Many applicants had experienced difficulties accessing the portal due to slow loading times and crashes caused by heavy traffic.
According to the CDCFIB, the upgrade will make it easier for applicants to complete their registration once the portal resumes.
The board also thanked Nigerian youths for their growing interest in joining the country’s paramilitary services and promised to ensure fairness throughout the process.
