The chief branding and communications officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, has said that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has not commenced lifting of petrol from Dangote refinery.
In a statement on Thursday, Chiejina said the company was yet to finalise its contract with the NNPCL.
“We would like to state that NNPC has not commenced lifting of refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from our Dangote petroleum refinery
“Therefore, the issue of fixing the price of petrol lifted from our refinery does not arise, as we are yet to finalise our contract with the NNPCL, he said.
The statement said the petrol market is strictly regulated, and as such, the company can not determine, fix, or influence the product price, which falls under the purview of relevant government authorities.
Dangote group assured Nigerians of high-quality petroleum products, which will be available across the country.
Aliko Dangote, chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, had on Tuesday officially announced the commencement of petrol production at his refinery.
