Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, has signed the state’s 2024 budget of N314.8bn into law.
Mutfwang assented to the Appropriation Bill on Tuesday at his office at the Government House, Rayfield Jos, the state capital. Speaking after signing the document, Mutfwang said the budget would provide the framework for his administration to address the developmental needs of the state.
“We met a state of affairs where critical sectors of Plateau existence were in tatters and years of neglect have resulted in institutions and infrastructure rundown beyond what to manage.
“We are therefore determined that we will lay a new foundation and give our people a future and hope.
“The implementation of this budget will start a new culture of maintenance, excellence and having Plateau committed to the path of progress and development,” the governor said.
He appealed to the people to continue to support his administration, so as to spur his administration to the path of development to ensure that Plateau can be recognised among the comity of states in Nigeria.
The state assembly had in November jacked up the 2024 budget from the initial N295.4bn to N314.8bn and speedily passed the appropriation bill barely three days after it was presented by the governor.
