The Kaduna state police command have arrested a man for allegedly killing his 27 year old girl friend. Spokesman of the state command, Mohammad Jalige,said the suspect by name Kenneth was arrested in Kaduna while he was about to be lynched by angry mob.
He said the girlfriend, a 27 year old lady whose named was given as Ebenezer Agada, a teacher at Command Secondary and Nursery school Sokoto Road, Kaduna was hacked by with a matchette by the suspect, inflicting multiple degrees of injuries on her face, arms and hands.
It was gathered that the suspect claimed that the deceased rejected his marriage proposal after sponsoring her to school.
The mutilated remains of the lady trended on the social media.
The police statement reads, “On the 14/04/2023 at about 2130hrs, distress call has it that there was a mob action at NEPA Round About and that the unruly crowd were about to lynch a suspect.
“Operatives were mobilised to the scene where they met the suspect lying unconscious and surrounded by the crowd.
“Information gathered reveals that the suspect by name kenneth, surname name not yet known, attacked his girlfriend, named Ebenezer Agada “F” aged 27yrs old of Command Secondary and Nursery school Sokoto Road, with a matchette and inflicted multiple varying degrees of injuries on her face, arms and hands.
“In the process of the attack, he severed her left hand completely, alleging that he had spent a lot on her and she want to dump him for another man.
“The victim was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for treatment where a medical doctor on duty call confirmed her dead. The corpse has been deposited at the same hospital for an autopsy.
“Investigation is currently ongoing”.
