The 1982 set of the Keffi Old Boys Association (KOBA) has adopted new measures to reposition the class and strengthen internal structures.
At its virtual general meeting held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, members agreed to prioritise welfare and unity.
Chairman of the Class, Mr. Dauda Ahmed, who presided over the meeting, said the class must evolve as members approach retirement.
“We are in a retirement phase where members welfare and solidarity must take centre stage,” he stated.
A major resolution was the reconstitution of the Class’ Board of Trustees (BoT) following three vacant positions.
The vacancies were created following the deaths of Mr. Bulus Umaru and Mr. Timothy Shokwolo, as well as the prolonged absence of Mr. Lawandi Mohammed from the class activities.
To fill the positions, the class unanimously appointed His Royal Highness, Alhaji Jibrin Waziri, paramount ruler of Gurku Chiefdom, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State; Alhaji Adamu Wanki, a permanent Secretary in the FCT and Alhaji Mas’ud Ahmed, a Lagos based business man.
The meeting also constituted a four-member committee, charged with the responsibility of designing a structured framework to address the welfare of members.
Members of the committee include Alhaji Adamu Wanki, Rev. Andrew Semlek, Mr. Nuhu Ashikibu Masin (Class Secretary) and Mr. John Musa Shiklam (Class Treasurer).
The class also resolved to revive its membership registration and dues system to boost its financial base, noting that it would go a long in ensuring sustainability of welfare initiatives and future projects.
To improve participation of members in decision making, the class resolved that meetings would continue to hold quarterly, via its WhatsApp platform.
Mr. Ahmed thanked members for their active participation and pledged full implementation of the decisions reached.
The meeting ended with a strong sense of brotherliness, unity and renewed commitment to collective progress of the class.
