Kaduna lawmaker dies three days after inauguration

A member of the Kaduna state House of Assembly, representing Chikun constituency,  Garba Madami is dead.
Madami, a member of the PDP, died on Saturday in the hospital where he was on admission.
He died three days after the inauguration of the house on June 13, 2023, which he was
unable to participate as he was
receiving treatment in the hospital for the undisclosed ailment.
His son, David Madami, shared the sad news on his father’s death on his Facebook page.
The governor of Kaduna state, Senator Uba Sani, in a statement, expressed shock over the death of the lawmaker.
The governor commiserated with the family of the lawmaker and the entire Chikun constituency, noting that Madami was known for promoting peaceful coexistence and was greatly respected.
“I pray that God grant the soul of Madami eternal rest and comfort his family, associates, friends and constituents he left behind”, the governor said.
He recalled that during his lifetime, the deceased served as member, representing Chikun Constituency, in the Kaduna State House of Assembly; Chairman of Chikun Local Government Area; Commissioner of Planning and Budget as well as Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the late governor Patrick Yakowa.
