The Kaduna state governorship election tribunal has asked Uba Sani to open his defence in the petition, challenging his victory as governor of the state.
The chairman of the tribunal, Justice Victor Oviawe, said Sani, his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are expected to open their defence on Saturday.
The judge also gave the respondents 10 days within which to conclude their defence.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Muhammad Isah-Ashiru, are challenging Sani’s victory in the March 18 poll.
The petitioners who prayed the court to nullify Sani’s victory, closed their case at the court session on Thursday.
Sani was declared the winner of the election, having scored 730,002 votes to defeat Isa-Ashiru, who polled 719,196 votes in the election.
