Gunmen attacked Ogun church, kill pastor, abduct seven worshipers

Some gunmen on Saturday, attacked the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Abule-Ori in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun state, killing the pastor and abducting seven worshippers.
The incident was said to have occurred around 12 am during the vigil.
The State So-Safe Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, confirmed the incident, saying his officers rescued the seven church members and killed one of the kidnappers during the operation.
A statement issued by the So-Safe Corps Director of Information and Public Relations, Moruf Yusuf, said, “The special operation team of the Corps, Owode-Egba Zonal Command, under ACC Jimoh Rasaki Omoniyi, received a distress call that some of the members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Desires of Nations Parish, under Ogun Province 22, Abule-Ori in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, were attacked during a vigil, while seven members of the church were kidnapped and the pastor killed”.
He said, “The seven victims were rescued unhurt, while one of the kidnappers was killed and many of the suspects sustained serious injury during a fire exchange.”
Also, in a reaction, the spokesperson of the state police command, Omolola Odutola, said the command was aware of the incident.
She said one of the pastors of the church, Adesina Oyesegun, reported the incident at the Police station in the area.
