Senator Rochas Okorocha, a former governor of Imo state was arrested Tuesday in Abuja by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
Spokesman of EFCC, Mr. Wilson Ewujaren, confirmed his arrest. However, it was not clear whether Okorocha who represents Imo West Senatorial District, would be detained or not.
The former governor have been having a running battle with the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, over ownership of some assets in Owerri, the state capital.
The property, Spring Palms Estate, were said to be under seal by the Imo state government.
The state government is claiming the ownership of the property, however, Okorocha insisted that they belonged to members of his family.
Only recently Okorocha broke into the sealed property in Owerri. His action had degenerated into violence which led to his arrest by police.
He was later released following the intervention of the presidency.
