Danjuma to chair 2024 edition of Taraba’s Nwunyo fishing and cultural festival

Theophilus  Danjuma, a former minister of defence is to Chair the Nwunyo fishing and cultural festival in Taraba state.
The festival is scheduled to hold on April 19th and 20th, 2024, in Ibi LGA of the state.
The Nwunyo Fishing Festival is an annual event that attract tourists from within and outside the country.
Members of the festival’s planning committee, headed by the Taraba state deputy governor, Aminu Alkali, on Friday, visited Danjuma at his resident in Takum, headquarters of Takum LGA of the state to personally deliver the letter of  invitation to him.
The deputy governor said, Governor Agbu Kefas, delegated the commitee to deliver the invitation.
Speaking while receiving members of the organising committee, Danjuma observed that the task of securing cultural heritage  is a collective responsibility of all  and should be taken seriously.
The former Defence Minister, applauded Kefas for his “transformative initiatives” in Taraba state, including the revival of the  tourism sector of the state.
Other members of the festival planning committee who visited Danjuma, include the  Commissioner, ministry of Heritage and Ecotourism, Mr Joseph Nagombe, the  Aku Uka of Wukari, Chief of Ibi and state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN),among others.
