Appointments would be based on merit, says Mutfwang

Plateau state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has said that all appointments in the state would be based on merit and every section will be carried along.
The governor also assured that nobody will be victimised in the review of appointments and recruitments into the civil service, made by the immediate past administration in the state.
Gyang Bere, spokesman of the governor, said in a statement that Mutfwang spoke
on Friday at the  swearing-in of  some appointees and members of the recently constituted Plateau State  House of Assembly Sevice Commission, which held at the  Government  House, Jos.
Mutfwang said members of the committee set up to review the appointments will not witch hunt anybody.
The governor said, the decision to review the appointments were based on complaints from citizens “and we thought it will be irresponsible not to investigate such complaints.”
“We will continue  to do all we can to ensure that the process is seamless, fair and just. We won’t  treat anyone in isolation and I can assure you that no one will be victimised”, the statement qoute the governor .
He urged the people to continue  to pray for his administration as it unfold  policies that are beneficial to citizens.
Muftwang charged  the appointees  to see their appointments as a responsibility and trust bestowed on them by Plateau citizens.
He appealed to citizens not to run anybody down in the name of looking  for appointment, assuring  that all appointments  would be made based on merit and every part of the state would be carried along.
Responding  on behalf of the appointees, the Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Latep Dabang, commended  the governor for choosing them to serve in their respective capacities.
He said they will  bring to bear their wealth of experience  to add value to the administration with a view to ensure the  development Plateau state.
