Kefas swears in new judges in Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba state has sworn in the newly appointed judges for the High Court and the Customary Court of Appeal.
Speaking shortly after swearing-in the judges on Wednesday at the Government House, Jalingo, Kefas urged them to apply the law impartially and without bias, adding that justice must be served to all irrespective of class or social standing in the society.
He congratulated the appointees, noting  that their selection reflects the trust and confidence the people of Taraba state have in them.
“The judiciary is the cornerstone of the society. As judges, your decisions are crucial in protecting the rights of the people.
“You must perform your duties with the utmost responsibility and professionalism. Justice should be given to people who deserve justice and not the other way round.
“Your decisions have a significant impact on the lives of citizens, and efforts must be made to ensure that justice is served to all,” the governor said.
He called on  the judges to apply the law impartially and without bias, adding that justice must be served to all irrespective of class or social standing in society.
The governor reiterated his administration’s to support to the judiciary, stressing that the judiciary plays an important role in promoting economic development and ensuring social justice.
Those sworn-in as high court judges include, Justice Hamidu Audu, Justice Joel  Ubandoma and Justice Jennifer Bibonga while Justice Esther Tata and Justice Benjamin Abwage were sworn-in as Customary Court of Appeal judges.
