Mutfwang imposes 24 hour curfew in Mangu LGA

Caleb Mutfwang, governor of Plateau government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Mangu Local Government Area of the state.
The governor’s spokesperson, Gyang Bere, announced this in a statement on Tuesday, in Jos.
He said the decision after consultations with the various security agencies.
There had been attacks in the area by bandits leading to destruction of lives and property.
The statement said only people on essential duties in the area would be allowed to move.
The governor expressed sympathy with the families of victims of the attacks, assuring that government is committed to ensuring that there is peace in the state.
The governor urged all citizens, especially residents of Mangu LGA to comply with the directive and assist the security personnel by providing reliable information to restore peace and order in the area.
The governor lamented that some people are were determined to create an atmosphere of insecurity in the state, despite efforts to end the activities of terrorists.
Mutfwang “expressed his sympathy to the families of the victims and the injured, and assured them that the government will not relent in ensuring lasting peace in the state and promised that the curfew will be reviewed.”
