The Arewa Youth Federation (AYF) has said that it will join hands with well meaning Nigerians to demand for the resignation of the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi.
The group dissociated itself from a statement purportedly denying the call for the removal of Bichi.
In a statement on Sunday in Kaduna, the group said, the DSS DG must respect court orders and stop disobeying court orders.
The statement signed by Usman Ibrahim and
Samuel Godiya, President and Secretary General secretary of the group respectively, said group whose main interest is to foster unity and peace in the country, it will never support impunity.
It distanced itself from a statement purportedly issued by one Kabir Mohammed who claimed to be the President of the AYF.
“Our attention has been drawn to a statement issued in our name denying the call for the sack of Yusuf Magaji Bichi, DG DSS signed by one Kabiru Muhammad who claimed to be our president”, the statement reads.
“The Arewa Youth Federation here by caution the general public to note that Kabir Muhammad who is parading himself as the leader of AYF is a fraud and the so called statement has nothing to do with us.”
The statement said, “the AYF had chosen to remain silent about the matter concerning DSS and the court, but reckless statement like the one authored by this so called Kabir Muhammad necessitated us to issue out a statement.”
The group said, it is neither in support of the DSS nor Mr. Godwin Emefiele (suspended CBN governor), Alhaji Aminu Yaro Dogara (Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos), Abdulrasheed Bawa (suspended Chairman of EFCC) or any individual for that matter.
The group said, “As a credible youth organisation that is non partisan, we are only in support of the truth, we want the right thing to be done irrespective of whose interest is at steak.
“If any individual has committed any crime, he should be punished according to the law, that’s why the laws are there, to be used.
“Also if there are laws or court orders to be respected or followed, they must be followed, no one individual is bigger than the law.
“There is no hiding place for the DG DSS, he must respect court orders. We are joining hands with well meaning Nigerians to call for the resignation of the DG DSS for acting as an emperor and disobeying court orders
“We would have chosen to remain neutral on this issue but seeing an individual practically destroying the sovereignty of the country calls for quick intervention from all patriotic compatriots.
“As a northern group whose main interest into foster unity and peace of our dear nation,we will never support impunity.
“As for Kabir Muhammad, he is faceless, he is not our leader, we searched for him but to no avail, no social media handle matches that description, there is no trace, he is an imposter who is in the habit of using credible organisations to defraud people destroying the principles, vision and mission of the organisation.
“He is an infiltrator, who destroys the reputation of organisations…
He is bought to interfere with Justice, to say all things according to his sponsors script.
“They should let the rule of law prevail because no amount of paid propaganda will deter the law from taking its course.
“Finally, we are sending a strong word of warning to Kabir Muhammad and his co-perpetrators to be careful of spreading lies, concocted stories to damage the image of this credible organisations.”
