Senator Shehu Sani, one of the governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna state, says he will not pay any delegate to vote for him during the primaries today.
Sani who stated this in a series of tweets late Tuesday night, said any vote for him should be based his agenda for good governance, stressing that the country cannot develop through a dishonest leadership recruitment system.
“I will NOT pay any delegate to vote for me and no one should pay for me to be voted.
“I welcome votes based on my agenda for the good people of Kaduna state.
“We can’t build or develop our country through a dishonest leadership recruitment system”.
He said, “If paying delegates is justified, the masses of the people can’t be faulted for demanding bags of rice before they vote”, during elections.
Sani also tweeted that some aspirants who participated in the  National Assembly primary election and  paid money to delegates but lost the election, were going from house to house to collect their money back.
According to him, “Some aspirants (for the House of Representatives ticket) are moving house to house arresting delegates who collected their money and didn’t vote for them…
“A man who has lost the House of reps ticket in Kaduna has recovered over N100million from delegates this evening (Tuesday), using vigilantes and hunters.”
