Another traditional ruler abducted in Plateau

Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped Gyang Balak, the Da Gwom Rwei, Vwang district , Jos-south Local Government Area of Plateau state.
The traditional ruler was said to have been abducted on Sunday night on his way home, a few metres before the main gate of the National Institute For Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru in Jos.
Spokesman of military outfit, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Ishaku Takwa, confirmed the incident, saying that the chief was kidnapped on his way to Vom.
Takwa said troops of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies have launched a manhunt for the criminals.
“Troops of OPSH conjunction with other security agencies are on trail of the kidnappers,” he said.
“God’s willing, the security agencies will soon close-up on the criminals.”
The incident comes a few weeks after the abduction of Charles Mato, the Sum Pyem of Gindiri, Mangu LGA of the state.
Mato was abducted from his residence in Gindiri.
His abductors had demanded N500 million ransom for his release after making contact with his family.
He was however released after five days in captivity.
