Callistus Agwaza, Jalingo
Sadiq Tafida of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has won Wednesday’s rerun election for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency of Taraba state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared inconclusive the By-election that was held on the 3rd February for the constituency
because the number of cancelled votes were more than the margin of victory.
Declaring the results, INEC returning officer, Prof. Daniel Ayuba, said the PDP candidate scored a total of 19,681 votes to beat his closest opponent and candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr. Innocent Jabayang, who garnered 16,379 votes.
