2022 Christian pilgrimage commences with SGF leading top government officials to Israel, Rome
The 2022 Christian Pilgrimage to Israel and Rome will commence on Sunday with top government officials led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr.Boss Mustapha.
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rev. Pam Yakubu disclosed this on his twitter handle.
Yakubu said, “This is a special pilgrimage which will foster bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Israel.”
Pam also disclosed that by November, the country of Israel will approve a Nigerian airline to airlift pilgrims on a direct flight to Israel.
This, according him, “will help regulate the movement of Nigerian pilgrims which our ACT mandated us to do and to reduce the traveling hours to Israel”.
He said only intending pilgims who have duly been screened by the commison would be issued visas for pilgrimage.
Pam said thorough screening of intending pilgrims has become necessary “because that is the only way to eradicate abscondment.”
The NCPC boss said further that everything possible was being done to curb incidents of abscondment of pilgrims and appealed to stakeholders to work with the Comission to end the menace.
