Taraba state governor, Agbu Kefas on Saturday urged Christians to use the occasion of Easter to intensify prayers for the state and the nation at large.
In his Easter message singed by Emmanuel Bello, his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Kefas noted that the country is in a state of both economic and security turmoil, stressing that the season is apt for prayers to God for solutions.
He described Easter as a season of great lessons for humanity and urged Nigerians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ that define Easter for the good of humanity.
“This season calls for a deeper reflection on the virtues of sacrifice and selfless service to humanity and Christians must imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ whose entire life, death and resurrection speaks to the qualities of long suffering and victory in the face of daunting challenges.
The governor said, “This year’s Easter is coming at a time the country is undergoing all sorts of crisis from the economy to security issues.
“At no time do we need prayers and selflessness more than now. Let me call on all Christians to live out those virtues both at home and the workplace.
“Let me once again assure the state of my continued commitment to a better life, especially in the provision of infrastructure and qualitative education.
“Security agencies are on top the challenge of safeguarding life and properties during the festive seasons and we would give them all the support needed to have a hitch free celebration”, Kefas said.
