Gunmen abduct son of Buhari’s admin officer, demand N200m ransom


Gunmen have abducted Sanusi Maikano, son Abubakar Maikano, President Muhammadu Buhari’s administrative officer, demanding N200 million ransom.
Sources said, Sanusi, a Gwantu based farmer was abducted at his residence in Gwantu, headquarters of Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna state at about 9pm on Saturday.
The security guard at the resident was said to have been arrested for failing to alert security agencies after he managed to escape.
It was gathered that Sanusi was at their family house when the gunmen numbering about 10, stormed the his residence and asked his whereabouts.
They gunmen were said to have ordered her to call him on telephone, but she told them that she had no airtime to make calls.
They were said to have threatened to kill her if she did not call her husband.
Sanusi’s young brother who was unaware of what was going one was said to have walked into the house and was caught and tied by the gunmen.
Sanusi was eventually called and as he left the family house on his way to his residence, he was abducted by the hoodlums.
The gunmen were said to have called on Sunday to demand for N200m ransom.
When contacted, spokesman of the Kaduna state police command, Muhammad Jalige, said he was not aware of the incident, but promised to contact the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area and get back.
He was yet to get back at the time of this report.
