Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state, called on muslims to embrace the spirit of giving as exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations
Speaking in an interview with journalists after offering prayers marking Eid-el-Kabir with other muslim faithfuls at the Sultan Bello prayer ground on Friday, in Kaduna, he called on wealthy individuals to share their blessings with the needy and the less privileged.
He said, “Eid-el-Kabir commemorates the profound act of obedience and unwavering faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, who was prepared to sacrifice his beloved son Ismail in submission to the command of Almighty Allah”.
He added that the true essence of Eid-el-Kabir, is obedience, sacrifice, compassion, and unity.
The governor called on citizens to reflect deeply on the sacred meaning of the festival and strive to inculcate these values in their daily activities.
Sani said his administration made progress by embarking on massive infrastructural development, revival of the health and educational sectors as well as tackling the security challenges in the state.
He called on citizens to continue to pray for the state and the country so that God will continue to guide and strengthen leaders in the efforts to address development challenges.
“I humbly ask that you continue to pray for our dear state, and the country, that Allah may continue to guide, strengthen, and inspire us as we tackle the pressing challenges of governance, development, and security,” he said.
He expressed felicitations with Muslims over the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and wished those who travelled for the festivities safe journeys.
“Let us also use this holy occasion to intercede and offer fervent prayers for the leadership of our great nation, especially our President, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all our leaders at all levels.
“May Almighty Allah grant them divine direction as they strive to build a righteous, peaceful, prosperous, and united Nigeria,” the governor said.
