Bandits kill four famers in Kaduna community

Four people have been killed by bandits in Da Gomba Kasaya village in Kunai ward, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
Several others were said to have sustained various degree of injuries during the attack which occurred in the farms.
The bandits were said to have attacked their victims who were working on their farm at about 9:30am on Monday.
A community leader in the area, Mr. Samson Maikano, who confirmed the killings in a telephone interview with THISDAY on Tuesday, said the bandits were on their way to invade the community when they met the farmers.
He said, “The bandits were coming to attack the community. On their way they met four members of our community in the farm, so they decided to killed them before entering the community.
“We heard the sound of gunshots and some people went to see what was happening, but on their way, they ran into the bandits who fired at them, injuring them.
“Everybody in the community was alerted following the gunshots and we mobilised and repelled them”.
According him, the community had been under persistent attacks by bandits, adding that many people are sacred of going to the farm.
He said in 2019, the bandits invaded the community in broad daylight, went to a school and abducted school children who were about writing their junior secondary school exam.
Maikano called on the government to establish a military security post in the community to secure the lives and property of the people.
He gave the names of those killed as: Anthony Barde, Markus Dauda, Elkana Bala and Ezra John.
The spokesman of the Kaduna state police command, Mohammad Jalige, did not respond to telephone calls when contacted.
