The programme manager of Resilent and Dialogue Initiative (RADI), a non-governmental organisation, Mr. Reuben Buhari, has called on the Kaduna state government to come to the aid of over ten thousand people displaced by terrorists in the state.
Buhari made the call on Wednesday in Kaduna while distributing food stuffs and clothes to hundreds of the displaced victimm.
Buhari noted that it is the responsibility of the government to cater for the welfare of citizens displaced by the deadly activities of terrorists.
He said if the government had lived up to its responsibility of ensuring security of citizens, probably they may not have been IDPs .
He also called on well-meaning individuals and groups to assist the victims who have been rendered homeless to start life again.
He said RADI was founded during the Kajuru crisis with the objectives of assisting the displaced victims of the crisis that rock the area.
Buhari said, “RADI is an NGO we founded when the killings, destructions and displacements of communities started.
“There was actually nothing happening (in terms of helping the victims). So I and Alheri Magaji, came together to see how we could put resources together to help our people.
“From there, we decided to continue with the initiative. What we did was that, once there is a crisis somewhere, we reach out to Good Samaritans for donations to assist the victims.
“What we are doing today is an end of year intervention for widows and vulnerable people. We shared rice, maggi, wrappers…” he said.
