A former senator President, Anyim Pius Anyim has dumbed the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Anyim formally joined the APC on Saturday at a ceremony held at the Abakaliki Stadium the Ebonyi state, capital.
Many chieftains of the APC, including the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, minister of works, David Umahi and the Ebonyi state governor, Francis Nwifuru, attended the event.
The APC flag was presented to Anyim by Ganduje during the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Anyim said he and his supporters have resolved to unite the whole of Ebonyi with the APC political family.
The former senate President said his supporters have resolved to support President Bola Tinubu and all his political appointees in the state to resolve the challenges in the country.
According Anyim, “the people of Ebonyi have resolved to collaborate with the governor and all federal appointees of Ebonyi, particularly the honourable minister of works, to upscale our support for President Bola Tinubu.
In 1999, Anyim was elected as a senator from Ebonyi on the platform of the PDP and in 2000, he emerged as senate president following the impeachment of Evans Enwerem
He also served as the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
